Quite recently I learned about the eye-wear miracle that is the Warby Parker HOME TRY-ON program. Listen when I tell you that this is the gift of gifts for the following scenario: the giftee likes to pick his or her own gift, but the gifter also enjoys gift selection participation. You do not have to submit yourself to a boring check mark to his or her gift list! You have options! You have Warby Parker!
So how does it work? Tell your giftee to head over to warbyparker.com and order five pairs of sunglasses through the HOME TRY-ON program. There is no cost for shipping either way. He or she will receive them in the mail within five days. Once the package arrives, Warby Parker encourages the recipient to spend the next five days trying-on each pair, taking photos, showing them to friends and family and ultimately deciding which one(s) to keep. And actually, if your giftee bravely shares pictures with them, Warby Parker will help with spec choices. Once the decision and payment are made, the box goes back in the mail and the new shades will be sent on their way.
Now maybe you’re thinking “this is really neat and all, but why Warby Parker in particular, aside from this program?” This company has distributed over a million glasses to people in need. When you buy a pair, not only do they give a pair, they provide training to folks in developing countries to give basic eye exams. So Warby Parker doesn’t just make high-quality, great-looking glasses, they give and teach and the core of their model is rooted in goodness. Giving a gift feels good, but giving Warby Parker eye-wear feels even better.
So let’s be honest, you may very well want to try this out yourself (and I enthusiastically recommend that you do). It’s free. It’s fun. Why not? Give it a go. Let me know what you think.
Note: Warby Parker has fantastic options for prescription eye wear, also eligible for the HOME TRY-ON. Also, the zip-up I’m wearing in the photos is by Under the Canopy, UTC has a self proclaimed “commitment to environmental and social responsibility — combining style with substance”.

I’ve mentioned Stitch Fix before on GWB, so it won’t surprise you that earlier this week I received a scheduled Fix in the mail. So let me tell you all about it and what makes Stitch Fix an awesome gift.
In this Fix I received 1. Jaiden Jogger Jean by Liverpool, 2. Iva Open Cardigan by Staccato, 3. Tomson Mixed Material Top by THML, 4. Filbert 3/4 Sleeve Popover Blouse by 41Hawthorn, and 5. Martelli Scoop Neck Sweater by Pink Martini. My favorite piece from this Fix was the THML top for its work to weekend versatility and darling embroidery. One thing I really love about this program is that you get introduced to new brands and companies. The experience is entirely personalized and delightful. It’s many miles away from a trip to the mall.
So what happens when you give the gift of Stitch Fix? The lucky lady will fill out a pretty extensive fit and style profile and choose a date to receive her Fix of five items. In my fixes I have usually received four clothing items and one accessory, but in my recent fix was all clothes.
The individually styled Fix costs $20 (no extra shipping), but that money can be used toward making purchases from the Fix. The cost per item ranges based on what she tells her stylist. Once she gets the package in the mail she will have three days to try everything on and decide which things to keep. She will simply drop off the remaining items in a pre-paid shipping bag at a nearby post office or mailbox. That’s it– easy!
Think you know the right girl for this gift? Gift certificates are a click away.
Note: The links above are referrals. Once you sign up you will get your own referral link to share with friends. When a pal places her first order with your referral link you’ll get $25 in credit. Happy face!
He says he needs to be able to see his phone while he’s driving, but you want to keep him safe.
She says the world ends when her iPhone battery dies, but you can come to the rescue every time.
Package these gifts together as a 3-piece set for her or for him– all available on Amazon Prime with a total price tag under $40.
