So Janie and Jack is having a major sale I thought it would be entirely appropriate to put together a couple of navy-inspired matchy sibling outfits for Sunday mornings and other fancy outings. Yeah? AND sale is 20% off. Yay for cuteness!
I don’t shop here often for our kiddos, but I do love it for a classic dress-up look. If you have a wedding on the horizon, scheduled family portraits, or just need a few outfits for church, check this store out. After out the ultrasound where we found out we were having a boy, Dan and I scooped up a few things here to celebrate the news. We left with a button down, suede booties and a wool barn coat. I think I was inadvertently channeling Tom from Downton Abbey. Or maybe this is just entirely typical of me. I’m definitely a fan of British style. Anyways, I think I got everything in 3T imagining how sweet it would all look on a toddler. Now Ari is 18 months, so we’re only halfway to seeing his dapper little ensemble. I know…ridiculous. But one Sunday down the road I’ll be glad for our stop at Janie and Jack. Go give a look!
Extra Advice: There are over half a dozen bow ties for $6-10 with buttons downs around $8-12. Get him set for picture day next year and 2016 winter holidays!

Six-Axis Star c/o KO Sticks
This foldable star sculpture may just be the most giftable item I’ve ever featured on Gifts with Bows. Why? Well it works for just about anyone on almost any occasion:
It’s office appropriate, making it suitable for work anniversaries and first days on the job.
It’s chic in the living room (gorgeous for newlyweds ready for sophisticated decor and entertaining for families with kiddos), making it a lovely housewarming gift or wedding present.
And yes, even kids can make perfect recipients. Imagine hanging a few from the ceiling in their bedroom or playroom. Or keep them in reach… because these hand made works of art are intended to be explored by hand (see the evidence in the photo story below).
But it gets even better. Not only are KO Sticks Stars a widely practical gift, they come in several sizes and materials. That means you can buy one for $24-170 hitting whatever your appropriate price point happens to be.
Note: KO Sticks is comprised of two great artisans (and mathematicians), Jane and John Kostick. Married for just over 20 years, they met at a geometry lecture and now construct geometric objects side by side. Now isn’t that an equation you’d like to support? Give KO Sticks a follow on Facebook to give your newsfeed a welcomed pop of art.
The other day I took our stars off of the living room bookshelves where they are typically on display (see above). And brought them to the park so that our three year old, Zoe could show them to her friends. Ready to see a few thoughtful and curious faces? And park adventures, too of course!
Photos: The bookshelf and park photos are my own and the product photos are by Design Within Reach, a KO Sticks retailer. A special thanks to Zoe’s pals for making their darling debuts on GWB.
Artist Credits: Featured above with the KO Sticks star, the lantern is Lauren Ritchie and the vase is Jen Gandee.

Hailing from Hunstville, Utah, Little Sapling Toys is less than 10 years old and it’s already the front runner in toy sales on Etsy. But what’s really cool about this shop is that it’s a family business focused on more than what they produce in their wood shop. Their concern for the health and vitality of the planet has inspired them to plant a tree for each toy sold. Having said that, they prioritize the quality of their materials and the developmental value of their toys for growing kiddos. Plus, they offer laser engraving so that you can personalize your gifts for an extra special touch.
I picked out some of my favorite toys and teethers in their shop, but there are literally dozens of adorable options and I insist you browse them all. There is a darling selection of teethers and rattles ready for your next baby shower, ride-on on toys and push cars for toddlers, and games for older kiddos.
Little Sapling Toys is offering Gifts with Bows readers a special 10% discount on an order from their Etsy shop until August 31, 2015. Use discount code GFTWBWS10 at checkout!

Give your next gift in true Florida form with a tropical delight that traditionally says, “Welcome!” and in more modern terms says, “Hey, girl!”. I can barely scroll Instagram for two minutes before I see a pineapple and you know what? I’m really okay with that. It’s fresh for summer and a sweet and citrus-y way to say congrats, happy birthday, or honey, I love you. Go forth and purchase your next punchy gift!
Trying to get your pineapple on for free? Okay I can help you there, too. Some ah-mazing bloggers and designers have made your pineappling adventures as easy as a quick download and print.

Citrus Lane caters to the age of the recipient, making this gift
perfect for baby shower or for a toddler on her birthday.
For 40% off your first box click here and use code TAKE40
Note: Citrus Lane provided quite a delightful afternoon for my lively 3 year old, Zoe, this past weekend. We opened the box on the back porch and she dove right in. As you can see from the pictures, she played with the Green Toys Build-a-Bouquet playset, made hand prints and drawings with Eco Kids Non-Toxic Natural Finger Paint, ate a snack size pouch of organic chocolate cookies by My Super Foods and listened along to book on CD while flipping through the lovely illustrations of If You’re Happy and you Know It by Anna McQuinn. After doing a little research I can happily confirm that I paid about a quarter of the price of these items when packaged together in a Citrus Lane box– and not a single item went unused by our young tester. I’d call that a win.
So how does this work as a gift? You can buy a subscription for the lucky kiddo or baby for 3, 6 or 12 months. Then, once the recipient (parent) gets the gift notice, she can enter the code into the “Redeem A Gift” section of the website. Citrus Lane will ask for the child’s birth date to ensure age appropriate picks. Don’t forget: for 40% off your first box click here and use code TAKE40 at check out.
Magnetic blocks? You can already picture their sweet little eyes widening.
Buy a 22 piece set here for $60 (Amazon PRIME)
Note: These magnetic blocks are as beautiful as they are fascinating. How do they get the magnets inside, anyways? Creators Chris and Will Haughey have done far more than design a toy set to inspire a child’s imagination, they have intentially grown and developed Tegu in Honduras to foster a positive social impact. They established a fully independent toy factory, pay employees a living wage, prioritize long-term career growth, and plant enough tress to fill a football field for every tree they use to harvest wood. If you’re wondering, that’s a ratio of 1:983. Plus, Tegu partners with a local school to support working families. Needless to say, giving Tegu as a gift is worlds away from giving any building block set.
